LOS ANGELES, CA – Earlier this week Google unveiled its new logo with some changes to the shading and font.
“It’s a new twist on an old classic,” says the German graphic designer commissioned to design the logo. “A really old classic, predating the internet”
Critics are unanimously panned on the original logo at launch. “This is awful, I don’t see how this got past so many of its directors, especially in Southern California. Am I… Am I the only one that sees this?” says one critic in a review.
The new logo lasted 38 seconds, in stark contrast to its longest serving logo of 11 years. The original designer was hoping it would last six years.
